Statement of Purpose (SOP)

Suggested order while writing an SOP:

The Statement of Purpose / Personal Statement / Admission Essay, whichever way you may name it, is an opportunity to talk directly to the admissions department. The secret of an excellent SOP is how convincingly you are able to portray yourself before the university's admissions committee. An SOP reflects the personality of the applicant and calls the attention to the important aspects of the application, which may be overlooked otherwise. The Statement of Purpose should leave a positive impression on the reader.

As in any essay, a personal statement should also have an Introduction, Body & Conclusion.
