Travel and Accommodation

Living in The United Kingdom

The cost of living in the United Kingdom will of course depend on the individual situation (and tastes!) of each candidate, but you still need to be prepared financially during your stay there.

Generally, you should prepare yourself (and save accordingly) for the following costs while in the UK

As long as you plan carefully about cost-saving strategies, the cost of living in England or the rest of the UK need not be prohibitive. In the UK, shared housing and utilizing the public transport networks are two significant ways to reduce your costs of living.

Travel

Public transport in the UK is reliable, relatively inexpensive and convenient to use. The three modes of public transport are

  • The Train

  • The Tube (The London Underground or the Subway is known as the 'Tube' It is fast and convenient and allows you to move across the entire length of London)

  • Buses (Buses link residential areas of London where the Tube tracks don't go)

  • The Cabs
